WHAT IS THIS BLOG ABOUT?
This is a magazine style ART BLOG about living a creative ‘life on the right side of my brain’ as an artist.
The right brain functions are Creativity, Art/Music Awareness, Imagination, Visual, Intuition, emotion and many more…this is where I (primarily) operate from.
It is about sharing my creative moments, inspiration and motivation.
It’s about the creative moments of fellow artists.
It is also about people and places that inspire us to make art, make better art, see, hear, taste art and to buy art.
I think you’ve got it now, it’s about all things art.
I’m on a pursuit to learn something new at every opportunity. My aim is to develop and better my creative skills and increase my knowledge on many different levels and from many different sources. Whether it is studying other artists (past and present), attending workshops, watching tutorials or reading books. Watch my progress as I put these teachings into practice and more importantly, making it my own.
“Painting is a continual process of development, not a series of of techniques learned and then applied” (I’m still searching for the author of this quote to give credit).
I believe giving back is just as important than receiving and there are so many artists who freely share their knowledge, so I will freely share my aha moments and what I’ve learned on my blog.
So brace yourselves for all my ‘How To’ posts, videos and links to amazing sites in the near future.
To feed my artistic soul, I love to gaze upon beautiful and thought-provoking art. Join me on my visits to galleries, art exhibitions, museums, art fairs and festivals.
I will be sharing my thoughts on the art on display, accompanied with loads of interviews and images.
Also join me when I peek inside the studios and minds of fellow artists.
We ‘ll find out what inspire and motivate them and what they do all day.
Capturing their art, creative processes and methods in beautiful images.
I am guided by a vision to connect people and art, inspire creative thinking and ignite discussion and ‘thinking out loud’.
Anything art-related is open for discussion, from likes/dislikes, frustrations, success and failures or how much fun it is being an artist!
Creativity is not just fine art. A myriad of disciplines springs to mind when I think of things and places that stirs my soul and sparks my creativity:
the art of wine-making, culinary delights, beautiful interiors, soothing gardens, awe-inspiring music, exceptional coffee, creative writing, jaw-dropping views, ….what did I leave out..?
It is through exploring life on the right side of the brain that we can be inspired and motivated to live life to the full, having loads of fun and laughing as much as possible in the process!
